In a major relief for veteran actor Prakash Raj, a city court has granted him bail in a case involving allegations of illegally possessing multiple voter identification cards across more than one state.
The controversy stems from allegations that the actor held four distinct voter IDs. Following these claims, a Bengaluru magistrate court had previously issued a non-bailable warrant against him. To address the warrant, Prakash Raj appeared personally before the court on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the actor’s legal counsel filed an application seeking to recall the non-bailable warrant. To secure his bail, Prakash Raj made a personal appearance during the proceedings. After hearing the arguments, the 48th ACJM (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate) court approved the bail application. The court directed the actor to provide a cash surety of ₹4,000, after which he departed from the court premises.
