Bengaluru: Addressing the escalating controversy over the proposed Bidadi Township project, Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated on Sunday that nobody can hide the truth and invited opposition parties to discuss the matter on the floor of the Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to reporters at the KPCC Bharat Jodo Bhavan in Bengaluru, Shivakumar responded to questions regarding the padayatra (protest march) organized by the BJP and JD(S) coalition against the project.
"In a democratic setup, every political party and citizen has the right to protest and hold a padayatra. They are free to exercise their right," Shivakumar said. He emphasized that the government is not exerting force on anyone regarding the township acquisition and is prepared to address all concerns through official channels.
"Let them raise their objections and present their arguments during the upcoming assembly session. They can also file complaints with whichever authority they wish. We will provide an appropriate response at the right time," the Chief Minister added.
