Bengaluru Triple Murder Case: Missing Co-Accused Kenneth Arrested in Puducherry

The Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru police have successfully arrested Kenneth, the co-accused in the shocking Bengaluru triple murder case, while he was hiding in Puducherry.

The tragic incident involves the brutal murder of Somasundaram (55), his wife Muthulakshmi (48), and their younger daughter Supriya (20), who resided in an apartment in Seegehalli, KR Puram, Bengaluru. The crime took place on the night of June 22. While Muthulakshmi and Supriya died on the spot, Somasundaram was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries by neighbors but later succumbed during treatment.

The prime suspect in the case is the couple's elder daughter, Shwetha (24), who allegedly plotted and executed the murders of her parents and sister alongside her lover, Kenneth. Shwetha was apprehended by a special police team near the Puducherry railway station on June 23 and has been remanded to police custody for seven days for further interrogation. Kenneth, however, had managed to evade arrest initially.

To locate Kenneth, the Puducherry and Karnataka police formed six special investigative teams. Following a tip-off that he was hiding in the Anna Salai area of Puducherry, the Orleanpet police placed the location under close surveillance and successfully arrested him on Thursday night around 10:00 PM.

Although Shwetha initially claimed that Kenneth was not involved in the crime, a crucial dying declaration by Somasundaram turned the case around. In his final moments, Somasundaram explicitly named Kenneth as the attacker who stabbed them, providing the police with definitive evidence to secure his arrest.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh confirmed the arrest, stating that a total of ten special teams, including three from the Puducherry police, worked collaboratively to crack the case. He added that the investigation is ongoing based on the statements of both accused individuals. Given the sensitive nature of the case, the Commissioner urged the public and media to refrain from spreading misinformation or rumors on social platforms, assuring that the police will officially share the motive and further details once the investigation concludes.
