Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, added yet another glorious chapter to its sporting achievements as its young yogis delivered an outstanding performance at the 10th Open State Yogasana Championship, held on September 6, 2026, at Clay World School, Omaxe Residency, Ludhiana.
The championship, organised by the Everest Yoga Institute, Bhupinder Yoga Institute and Yoga Fitness Centre, associated with the Indian Yoga Association (Punjab Chapter), witnessed spirited participation across different age groups and Yogasana categories.
Displaying remarkable flexibility, balance, concentration and artistic finesse, the BVM contingent secured the Overall First Position at the State Level. The students amassed an impressive medal tally, with gold medals dominating their remarkable performance across Traditional Yogasana, Artistic Solo and Artistic Pair events.
The school’s medal-winning contingent included Santosh Singh Routela Laksh Bhardwaj, Nishant Kumar, Divyansh Bhardwaj, Devansh Kasyap, Devansh Yadav, Kismat, Vidushi, Anahya, Anahita, Taqdeer, Anayaa, Ridhima, Geet, Ridhima Bhatt, Anvita Gulati and Sugandha Gulati. Their stellar performances across the 5–7., 7–9, 9–11, 11–14 and 14–18 years categories brought immense pride to the institution.
The young achievers were guided by Mr. Sanjeev Thakur and Mrs. Geeta Mishra, whose dedicated mentoring and sustained efforts played a significant role in the team’s splendid achievement.
Congratulating the champions, Principal Mr. Pawan Sood applauded the students and their mentors for bringing laurels to the school. He remarked that Yogasana is a harmonious blend of physical discipline, mental strength and inner equilibrium, and encouraged the students to continue pursuing excellence with perseverance and humility.
