Following a series of recent hoax bomb e-mails that caused widespread panic, the Chamarajanagar District Court is facing another shocking security threat. This time, miscreants directly targeted the Principal Senior Civil Judge via an internet call, threatening to kill them if bail is not granted to certain accused individuals.
An anonymous caller contacted the judge's mobile phone on Wednesday, demanding the immediate release on bail of the accused involved in crime case number 144/2026, which is currently under trial in the court. The caller used abusive and derogatory language, issuing a direct death threat by stating, "If the bail application is rejected, you are the next target, and you will not be spared."
Preliminary investigation reports reveal that the perpetrators utilized advanced technical systems to make the anonymous internet call from the number 41000697200. Following this brazen attempt to obstruct official duties and intimidate the judiciary, the Honorable Principal Senior Civil Judge and C.J.M. verbally informed the local police station about the incident. The judge has directed the authorities to trace the technical details of the number and take stringent legal action against the culprit.
This alarming incident comes on the heels of more than four hoax bomb e-mails received by the Chamarajanagar District Court over the past few days. Before the fear from those threats could even subside, this direct death threat to a sitting judge has sparked severe concern and anxiety across the judicial sector.
