KEA Extends Application Deadline for 3,991 Civil Police Constable Posts in Karnataka

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has officially extended the application deadline for the recruitment of 3,991 Civil Police Constable positions within the Karnataka State Police Department. While the previous cutoff date to apply for these vacancies was July 3, the authority has provided another opportunity for interested and eligible candidates to submit their applications. Aspirants must now complete their online application process by July 8. Furthermore, candidates who need to make corrections to their submitted forms can utilize the application correction window, which will remain active from July 10 to July 13.

Out of the total 3,991 vacancies distributed across various districts, cities, and units, a dedicated chunk of 596 posts has been reserved specifically for candidates belonging to the Kalyana Karnataka region. To be eligible for these positions, applicants must have cleared their PUC (Pre-University Course) or possess an equivalent educational qualification.

In terms of age criteria, the minimum age limit is set at 18 years. The maximum age limit stands at 33 years for general category candidates, while it is extended to 35 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Categories 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B. Tribal candidates residing in the forest areas of the state are granted an upper age limit of 38 years. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online mode. General category candidates alongside those from Categories 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B are required to pay an application fee of Rs 750, whereas candidates from other reserved categories need to pay Rs 500. The selection process will involve a competitive written exam conducted via the OMR format, which includes a negative marking system where one-fourth of a mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates clearing the written test will then have to undergo physical endurance and efficiency tests. Detailed physical standards and eligibility criteria are explicitly outlined in the official notification available on the department websites, ksp-recruitment.in and cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
