The upcoming Kannada movie 'Celebrity' is generating significant buzz as its shooting progresses at a rapid pace under the Gauri Arts banner. Produced by JDS leader Sa. Ra. Mahesh along with Sushma Ashwin, this project marks their maiden production venture. The film also serves as the launchpad for young actor Ashwin, who steps into Sandalwood as the lead hero. The team recently wrapped up a major song shoot at the scenic location of Melukote.
The filmed sequence is a romantic couple's track featuring Ashwin and leading lady Priyanka Achar. It is choreographed by the renowned South Indian dance master, Jani Master. Reflecting on his experience working with the debutant pair, Jani Master shared that choreographing for established superstars often comes with the pressure of matching their massive on-screen image. In contrast, he noted that working with newcomers is highly refreshing because they put in immense effort to deliver their absolute best, which gives a choreographer more room for creativity. He revealed that Ashwin rehearsed dedicatedly for four days for this melody track. Jani Master also expressed his gratitude to the production house, mentioning that the team waited patiently for a year and a half just to collaborate with him.
Expressing his excitement, lead actor Ashwin stated that the team was determined to film this specific romantic track in Melukote, and he is thrilled it finally happened. He added that Jani Master is choreographing in Melukote for the very first time and promised that fans can look forward to some spectacular hook steps, as the choreographer is known for his intricate dance styles. Ashwin also hinted that the song is a lyrical celebration of the heroine's beauty.
Lead actress Priyanka Achar expressed her happiness about being part of such an encouraging team and production house. With only ten days left for her portions to wrap up, she recalled the extensive workshop they underwent before the cameras rolled. Sharing details about her role, Priyanka revealed that she plays a character named Siri, who is a YouTuber in the film. She described the song as a beautiful praise track dedicated to her character and called working with Jani Master a dream come true.
Directed by Kiran Vishwanath, 'Celebrity' features a notable comeback by actress Sangeetha of 'Yaare Neenu Cheluve' fame, who returns to Sandalwood after a long hiatus. The film is presented by Suresh Babu CB. The technical crew includes Gummineni Vijay as the music director, Ravi Varma as the stunt director, Guna as the art director, and Aniruddha Sastry as the lyricist. The makers are planning to release the movie later this year.
