Sirsi: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy near Sirsimakki in Sirsi taluk on Saturday morning after a car lost control and overturned.
The deceased has been identified as Amanulla Saudagar (10), a resident of Kasturba Nagar in Sirsi. At the time of the accident, five members of the same family were travelling in the car. All of them are residents of Kasturba Nagar, police said.
The crash left Liaquat Mohammed Ali Saudagar, Shirin Banu, and two others with serious injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Liaquat Mohammed Ali Saudagar is a teacher at Darul Sul School in Shirur, Bhatkal taluk, according to sources.
The family was reportedly travelling to Sirsi as schools were closed for holidays when the accident occurred. The exact cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.
Police visited the spot soon after receiving information, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
