Karwar: Things got tense this morning at the Principal District and Sessions Court in Karwar when an alarming email landed in their inbox, warning of a bomb and prompting an immediate evacuation. Police quickly sprang into action, turning what could have been a chaotic situation into a controlled one.

The email popped up around 8:25 AM in the court's administrative office computer system, addressed to [email protected]. It bluntly demanded that everyone inside the court be cleared out by 12:15 PM, or else. Sent from an Outlook account under the name Sunniya Dasan ([email protected]), the message didn't stop at the threat—it rambled on with a mix of unverified claims, including some political and media-related accusations dating back to 2021, mentions of media handling, and names of various people. There were plenty of eyebrow-raising and confusing statements thrown in, but authorities haven't confirmed any of it yet.
As soon as word of the threat spread, police and security teams rushed to the scene. They wasted no time in safely ushering everyone out of the court premises. To play it safe, all scheduled hearings for the day were put on hold. Right now, thorough security sweeps are still underway, and investigators are digging into the email's origins and motives to figure out who's behind it and why.
This kind of incident always sends ripples through the community, but so far, it seems like a hoax or something more sinister—either way, the cops are on it, and the court is taking no chances. We'll keep an eye on updates as the probe unfolds.
