The Karwar Town Police have successfully cracked the sensational daylight theft of gold ornaments worth several lakhs that were kept on a bike inside the premises of the Karwar District Hospital. The entire case was solved and the prime accused arrested within just 24 hours of the crime.

Under the guidance of DySP S.V. Girish, a special investigation team was formed led by Karwar Town Police Station Inspector Jayashree S.M. The team, headed by PSI Babu Ager and PSI Sudha Aghanashini, meticulously analyzed CCTV footage from the crime scene, pursued every possible lead, and gathered crucial information about the suspect.
As a result of the swift investigation, the police arrested 62-year-old Rapique Khan, a resident of Chittakula in Sadashivgad. The scooter used in the crime and the stolen gold ornaments weighing approximately 60 grams (valued at around ₹4,85,000) have been recovered by the police.
The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
The successful operation was carried out by Police Inspector Jayashree Mane, PSI Babu Ager (Investigation-1), PSI Sudha Aghanashini (Investigation-3), and staff members Sudha Naik, Rudresh Maitrani, Shivram Desai, Mohammed Ismail Konankere, Sachin Naik, Arjun Desai, Pratapkumar M., Nagendra Naik, Ganesh Naik, Madhav Sangapur, and Prakash Dandappanavar.
