Bhatkal: In a mysterious incident, a motorcycle parked right outside a house in Jali village of Bhatkal taluk suddenly caught fire and was completely gutted in the early hours of Tuesday.
The vehicle, a Bajaj Pulsar belonging to Tahseen Bhanu Mehboobali Sheikh, was parked safely in the courtyard of his house at Shedakuli Honda in Jali village. Around 1:30 am, the owner noticed the bike engulfed in flames. Despite their best efforts, the family could not put out the fire, and the motorcycle was reduced to a charred wreck.
What has left everyone puzzled is how a bike that was standing securely in the house premises suddenly burst into flames with no apparent external cause. Locals are wondering whether it was a mechanical failure, a short circuit, or something more suspicious.
The bike, which was worth around ₹90,000, has been completely destroyed in the blaze.
A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Town Police Station, and police have begun investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the fire.
