Things are especially worrying because the fire could easily spread to the nearby forest areas if it isn't brought under control soon. With dry conditions and wind in the mix, the situation has turned serious fast.
Firefighters rushed to the scene as soon as the call came in and are working hard to douse the flames. Extra crews have been called in from Haliyal and Joida to help contain the blaze before it gets any worse.
On the ground, Tahsildar Shailesh Paramanand and CPI Shivananand Ambiger reached the spot, assessed the damage, and directed officials to take all necessary steps right away.
Meanwhile, locals are furious. Many are pointing fingers at the mill owners, accusing them of negligence for letting so much plastic waste pile up without proper safeguards. People are openly expressing their anger, saying this kind of disaster was waiting to happen.
As efforts continue to put out the fire, everyone in the area is hoping for a quick resolution—no injuries have been reported so far, but the environmental and safety concerns are mounting by the hour. Authorities are keeping a close watch in case the situation escalates further.
