Dandeli, August 3: A major fire broke out at Arpita Tiffin Corner, located on Lenin Road in Dandeli, during the early hours of Monday, causing extensive damage to the establishment.
According to officials, local residents alerted the police after noticing flames engulfing the shop. Police personnel from the Dandeli Town Police Station immediately rushed to the spot and informed the paper mill fire brigade. Firefighters arrived promptly and successfully brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
However, by the time the fire was extinguished, kitchen equipment, furniture and other items inside the tiffin centre had been completely destroyed. Preliminary estimates indicate that the incident resulted in property losses worth several lakhs of rupees.
Police officials, including PSI Ameen Attar and ASI Rajappa Dodmani, along with other police personnel, remained at the scene and assisted the firefighting operation. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
