Joida / Karwar: A horrific road accident on the Singaragav stretch in Joida taluk has left local residents shocked. The incident occurred on the Joida–Jagalabet route that connects to Dandeli.
A truck travelling from Goa towards Dandeli lost control while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle, veered off the road, struck a roadside tree, and overturned. As a result, the driver, Shahid Nayakwadi (24), sustained severe injuries and was pinned tightly inside the cabin.

Local residents and rescue personnel, including the fire brigade, worked for several hours to safely extricate the trapped driver from the mangled wreckage. He was immediately rushed to Ramanagar Government Hospital in a 108 ambulance for treatment.
A case has been registered at Ramanagar police station, and further investigation is underway.
