Karwar, December 23, 2025 — Lokayukta officials carried out simultaneous raids at three locations in Uttara Kannada district on Tuesday as part of a broader statewide operation targeting government officials accused of amassing disproportionate assets.
The primary focus of the raids was on Maruti Yashavant Malvi (also referred to as Yashwant Malvi), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KolaSirsi Group Souharda Cooperative Bank in Siddapur taluk. Searches were conducted at his residence, office, and a related commercial establishment in Siddapur.

The operation in Siddapur was led by Lokayukta Police Inspector Vinayak Billava, with teams scrutinizing documents related to assets, bank transactions, and other financial records.
In Haliyal taluk, Lokayukta teams raided two separate locations under the leadership of DySP Dhanya Nayak. These searches targeted residences and offices linked to related officials, with document verification ongoing.
Teams from Udupi, Mangaluru, and Karwar joined forces for the coordinated action, which has sparked significant discussion across the district.
As of now, no official details have been released regarding recovered documents, cash, or asset valuations. The raids are part of a larger Lokayukta crackdown across Karnataka, including districts like Bagalkote, Vijayapura, and Raichur, involving allegations of corruption and illegal wealth accumulation.
