Kumta: The lightning strike on the Kumta Taluk Administration Building on Tuesday evening’s rain created a moment of panic among the staff. Employees who were inside the office recounted that the impact was so intense that everyone felt lifted nearly a foot off their chairs for a brief moment.
Immediately after the strike, a short circuit occurred in a few sections of the building. Tahsildar Shrikrishna Kamakar, Shirastedar Jagadish Pujari, and Grade-II Tahsildar Satish Gowda quickly checked on all the staff members to ensure their safety.
Fortunately, no one was injured, and the officers expressed relief that the incident did not lead to any casualties or major damage, apart from the temporary power disruption and minor structural impact.
