Karwar: A tragic incident occurred near Chandewadi in Joida taluk, Uttara Kannada district, where a man drowned in the Pandri River while swimming with friends.
The deceased has been identified as Irshad Ahmad (37), a resident of Ganeshnagar, Dandeli.
On Tuesday afternoon, Irshad went to the river with friends for a swim. Unable to swim, he was pulled into deep waters and drowned. Despite efforts by his friends, they could not save him, leading to the tragic outcome.
Following the incident, Joida police visited the site and conducted an investigation. With the assistance of locals and fire department personnel, the body was recovered from the river.
