Karwar: The Sant Nirankari Mission successfully organized a large-scale blood donation camp in Karwar on Sunday, December 14. The event was inaugurated by Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Japi Pan Hak, who emphasized the critical need for blood in modern times and the noble cause of saving lives through such initiatives.
Speaking at the inauguration, Probationary IAS Jafipan Hak praised the Sant Nirankari Mission for its commendable efforts, stating, "In today's world, where blood shortage is a major concern, camps like these should be held regularly to save lives. The Sant Nirankari Mission is doing excellent work in this regard."

V.V. Hegde, President of the District Red Cross Society, highlighted the benefits and importance of blood donation, describing it as "the greatest donation" one can make.
Former Karwar City Municipal Council President Raviraj Ankolekar shared his personal experience, revealing that he has donated blood 27 times. He stressed that blood cannot be manufactured and can only be given from one human to another.
Vinod Kelaskar, District Coordinator of the Sant Nirankari Mission, provided insights into the Mission's blood donation drive and its history. He noted that since 1986, the Mission has donated a record 1,319,386 units of blood up to August 2025. This marks the ninth such camp in Karwar, which he described as a fortunate opportunity for the community.
The program was competently anchored by Sudhakar C. Naik. Other notable attendees included former municipal council member Manoj Bandekar, Shirsi branch head Purushottam Ji, Karwar branch head Ramesh Sarang Ji, and representatives from the Uttara Kannada District Hospital Blood Bank and Hubballi Cancer Hospital, who collected the donated blood.
The event underscored the Sant Nirankari Mission's ongoing commitment to humanitarian service and voluntary blood donation across India.
