Ankola:
A methanol-laden tanker overturned near Kanchina Bagilu on the Hubballi–Ankola National Highway on Tuesday, triggering safety concerns among residents and motorists.
The tanker, which was transporting methanol from Mumbai to Udupi via Hubballi and Yellapur, toppled on the highway, raising fears of a possible gas leak. As a precautionary measure, local residents in the vicinity were shifted to safer areas. Police have also urged vehicle drivers passing through the stretch to exercise extreme caution.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel, police teams, and officials from the local administration rushed to the spot immediately. Authorities have enforced a strict restriction preventing the public from entering within a 100–200 meter radius of the accident site.

A specialized emergency response team is expected to arrive soon to assess the situation further. Police officials confirmed that no leakage has been detected so far, but precautionary measures remain in place.
