Tourists Defy Sea Safety Warnings in Karwar

By The News Observer Desk,

Karwar, July 30: Despite the Arabian Sea turning increasingly dangerous during the monsoon, tourists continue to ignore repeated safety warnings and enter the waters at Karwar Beach in Uttara Kannada district, putting their lives at risk.

The concern has grown even more serious after a tourist drowned just two days ago while entering the sea. Despite the fatal incident, several visitors were once again seen venturing into the rough waters and enjoying the waves, disregarding the potential danger.
The Uttara Kannada district administration, Karwar Police, and lifeguard personnel have repeatedly appealed to the public to stay away from the sea during the monsoon season. Warning signboards have been installed at the beach to alert visitors about the risks posed by strong waves and dangerous currents.

However, many tourists continue to ignore these safety instructions. Authorities have also expressed concern over parents allowing young children to enter the sea, exposing them to life-threatening conditions.
