In the latest development on the horrific road accident near Gerusoppa-Sulemurki Cross in Honnavar taluk, police sources have revealed that the two victims are suspected to be residents of neighbouring Siddapur taluk.
The bodies of the deceased were completely charred in the intense fire that engulfed the car after it lost control, struck a tree, overturned into a ditch, and burst into flames late last night or early this morning.
Due to the severe burns, the remains are beyond visual recognition, and even the vehicle's number plate was destroyed, complicating initial identification efforts.
