Two Youths Killed in Horrific Car Crash Near Bhatka

Two young men lost their lives in a devastating car accident near Venkatapur, close to Shirali in Bhatkal taluk of Uttara Kannada district, on Sunday.
According to police, the car was travelling from Shirali towards Bhatkal when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road and rammed into a roadside electric pole, resulting in a severe crash.
Bilal (17), a resident of Azad Nagar in Bhatkal, died on the spot due to the impact. Another occupant, Ayan (19), who sustained critical injuries, was rushed for medical treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to Udupi for advanced care.
Sources said Ayan was pursuing his degree at a college in Mangaluru.
The impact of the collision was so intense that the car was completely mangled. Local residents and police personnel who rushed to the spot made immediate efforts to rescue the victims and transport them to the hospital, but Ayan could not be saved.
A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, police said.
