Karwar: A 35-year-old woman from Sirsi, Uttara Kannada district, was found murdered in her rented house in Hongasandra, South Bengaluru, on Sunday. The woman — identified as Pramoda — worked in a garment factory and had been separated from her husband for three years. Her 16-year-old daughter lives with her father in KR Pura.
The grim discovery was made when Pramoda’s nephew visited her residence in the evening. He noticed her slippers outside, and when she did not respond to his knocks and calls — her phone was switched off — he and a neighbour forced the door open to find her body with her throat slit.
Investigating officers from the Bommanahalli police station found no signs of forced entry, which led them to suspect someone known to Pramoda. Two persons have been detained and are being interrogated. One of the prime suspects is a man named Ramesh, who allegedly spent significant time at her home.
