Kedarnath (Uttarakhand): Two young devotees from Uttara Kannada district, Abhishek Kalasa from Karwar and Vinayak Naik from Honnavar, embarked on a spiritual pilgrimage to the revered Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand, where they voiced their opposition to the proposed Sharavati Pump Project in their home district.
While offering prayers in the sacred ambiance of the temple, the duo expressed their concerns about the environmental and social impacts of the government-backed Sharavati Pump Project in Honnavar taluk. They argued that the project is not essential for the region and could harm the local ecosystem and the interests of the community.
In a powerful gesture of devotion and social awareness, Kalasa and Naik prayed to Lord Kedarnath, seeking divine guidance to protect their district’s environment, river resources, and land from the potential adverse effects of the project. Their actions have resonated with residents of Uttara Kannada, earning widespread support for their cause.
