BJP Is Nitpicking Over In-Charge Minister Issue, Says Lakshman Savadi

By The News Observer Desk,

Karwar :Cooperation Minister and Uttara Kannada district In-charge Minister Lakshman Savadi has hit back at the BJP over its criticism of the appointment of district in-charge ministers, accusing the opposition party of unnecessarily “looking for stones in curd.”

Speaking in Karwar, Savadi said Karnataka has 34 ministers, including the Chief Minister, and three ministers have not been given district in-charge responsibilities.

Savadi said Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan had stated that Vijayanagara was too far for him and had requested that a minister from a neighbouring district be given the responsibility. He said the decision was also linked to the need to focus on Bengaluru in view of the upcoming elections.

The minister alleged that the BJP was unnecessarily politicising the issue and “adding wings” to the matter. He pointed out that even during the BJP government’s tenure, three ministers were reportedly left without district in-charge responsibilities.

“Did the BJP not have patriotism then?” Savadi questioned.

Taking a further dig at the opposition, Savadi questioned whether the BJP had the moral right to speak about corruption or raise questions over the Nagendra issue.

“Does the BJP have a conscience?” he asked.
