Murudeshwar / Karwar: Heavy rains triggered by the cyclone MONTHA in the Arabian Sea continue to lash Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka, severely impacting the local tourism industry and upsetting numerous tourists who had flocked to the coastal region.
Popular beach destinations, including Murudeshwar, are bearing the brunt of the storm, with massive waves pounding the shores. As a precautionary measure, authorities have imposed restrictions on beach access for tourists to prevent any mishaps. Water adventure activities such as boat rides, jet skiing, and parasailing have been temporarily halted until conditions improve.

Many visitors, who braved the downpour to reach Murudeshwar, expressed their frustration over the closures. "We came here with so much excitement, but not being able to visit the beach has left us deeply disappointed," shared several tourists on site.
The tourism department, in coordination with local police, has prioritized the safety of visitors by enforcing these measures. Officials indicate that normal activities will resume only once the weather stabilizes, urging patience from those affected.
