Karwar: The grand 7-day Karavali Utsav will be held with great pomp and splendour at Rabindranath Tagore Beach in Karwar from December 22 to December 28, 2025, announced Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Lakshmi Priya on Wednesday.
The festival will be inaugurated on December 22 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka. The event will see the presence of the Deputy Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, Minister for Kannada and Culture, District In-Charge Minister, several other state ministers, all MLAs of the district, elected representatives, and senior officers from various state government departments.
On the same day, the Chief Minister will inaugurate several key development projects, including the new DC office building, the upgraded Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences (KRIMS) hospital building, the Manjuguni Bridge, and other infrastructure works.
The Karavali Utsav will feature attractive cultural programmes every evening by renowned artists from across Karnataka and the country. These main performances will be preceded by cultural shows presented by talented local artists.
During the morning sessions each day, a variety of events are planned, including:
- Rangoli competitions
- Marathon
- Cooking competitions
- Dog show
- Kite festival and many other unique activities.

The week-long coastal festival is expected to draw thousands of visitors to Karwar and showcase the rich culture, traditions, and tourism potential of the Uttara Kannada coast.
