A cleanliness drive was held on Thursday at Tagore Beach in Karwar city under the joint initiative of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, the Tourism Department, Lions Club Karwar, and the Forest Department.

Organised under the banner “Coastal Cleanliness Rally,” the programme focused on creating awareness about cleanliness, especially among children. More than 200 students, along with officials from various departments, took part in the drive and collected plastic waste and other litter scattered along the stretch of the beach.
District Panchayat Deputy Secretary Allabaksh, heads of different organisations, volunteers, and students were present on the occasion. Officials appealed to the public to extend their cooperation in keeping the beach clean and well-maintained. The programme was organised with the aim of instilling the values of cleanliness, environmental conservation, and coastal protection among children.
