Tragic Loss: Two Women Local Representatives in Uttara Kannada Die of Heart Attacks on Same Day

In a shocking incident, two women elected representatives from Sirsi and Ankola taluks in Uttara Kannada district passed away due to heart attacks on the same day.
Geeta Bovi, former president of Itaguli Gram Panchayat in Sirsi taluk, and Sumitra Bant, a member of Bhavikeri Gram Panchayat in Ankola taluk, succumbed to sudden cardiac arrests, sources confirmed.
Both women were actively involved in people-centric initiatives at the grassroots level and had earned recognition for their dedicated public service. Their untimely demise has sent shockwaves through local political circles, colleagues, and villagers.
Local MLA Bhimanna Naik expressed profound condolences over Geeta Bovi’s death and canceled all public programs scheduled in the constituency for the day.
Condolence messages poured in on social media from local leaders to common citizens. A pall of grief has descended over the gram panchayats following the loss of the two women representatives.
