Ankola (Uttara Kannada): Local outrage has erupted over allegations that Professor Ramachandra Ankolekar of Poojageri College in Ankola sexually harassed a female student. Despite the incident occurring ten days ago, the accused has not been arrested, prompting student unions and fishermen leaders to submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday.

Members of the student union, along with fishermen leaders, handed over the petition to the Deputy Commissioner, stating, "The allegation is serious, and the victim student is living in fear. Even after ten days, the police have failed to make an arrest. If the accused is not apprehended within a week, we will launch an intense protest," they warned.
Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and assured swift action. However, locals demanded, "Immediate justice must be provided, keeping in mind the mental state of the student."
