Karwar, August 3:The latest expansion of the Karnataka Cabinet has left Uttara Kannada district without ministerial representation, triggering widespread disappointment among residents, political workers, and various organisations. Despite electing four MLAs to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, the district has once again failed to secure a place in the state Cabinet.
According to reports circulating in political circles, the name of Uttara Kannada MLA Mankal Vaidya was included in an initial list of probable ministers. However, his name was absent from the final list announced by the government, leading to political discussions and speculation over the last-minute change.
Following the Cabinet announcement, the question, "Four MLAs, Yet No Minister... Is Uttara Kannada Being Neglected Again?" has gained traction on social media and among the public. Many people believe the district deserves better representation in the state government, considering its significant contribution through its coastline, fisheries, tourism, forest resources, and industrial development.
