Bhatkal: The famous pilgrimage center Murudeshwar witnessed a grand and devotional Samudra Aarti (Sea Worship) on Monday evening, conducted with great religious fervor and enthusiasm.
After sunset, thousands of devotees gathered along the seashore to participate in the unique ritual, organized jointly by the Murudeshwar Temple Committee and the local organizing committee.
The day-long religious program included Shatarudriya recitation, Teertha Homa, Rudrabhisheka, and Mushthi Nanya (coin offering) ceremonies. At 6 p.m., a grand procession carried the sacred Teertha Kalasha to the seashore, where the Samudra Aarti was performed with traditional rituals and chants. Following the Aarti, instrumental music, devotional singing, and dance performances captivated the devotees gathered at the venue. The temple’s chief priests Jayaram Adi and Shivarama Adi led the pooja rituals.
District-in-charge Minister Mankal Vaidya, local officials, and several dignitaries graced the occasion. Devotees from across Karnataka attended the event, making the religious celebration at the historic Murudeshwar Temple a grand success.
