Honnavar,:An injured leopard cub was rescued by Forest Department personnel after it was found in a helpless condition at Hodaishirur village in Honnavar taluk of Uttara Kannada district on Friday.
According to local residents, the cub is suspected to have been struck by a passing vehicle, causing serious injuries to its hind legs and leaving it unable to walk.
Acting on the information, Forest Department officials reached the spot, safely rescued the leopard cub, and provided immediate first aid before shifting it for further medical attention.
A Forest Department official said the cub has been referred to a veterinary hospital in Shivamogga for advanced treatment and expert care. The animal is currently under observation, and its condition is being closely monitored.
