Karwar: Panic gripped the area near Malagi in Mundgod taluk following a major accident this morning. A passenger bus traveling from Sirsi to Hubballi lost control after its steering locked, first colliding with an electricity pole on the roadside before veering into a drain.

The bus was carrying over 50 passengers. Fortunately, all escaped with only minor injuries, sources said. Local residents rushed to the scene and safely evacuated the passengers to a secure location.
