Ankola: A Python that had taken shelter in a fishing net shed near Harwada Tarang Met Beach in the taluk was safely rescued with the cooperation of locals and reptile enthusiast Prashant Kalas.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Prashant Kalas, a resident of Moode Katta and a reptile conservationist, arrived at the spot immediately. He coordinated with local citizens to conduct the rescue operation and captured the python without causing any harm. Subsequently, it was released safely into a nearby forest, marking another significant step toward nature conservation.
Prashant Kalas has prior experience of successfully rescuing more than 45 king cobras and over 30 cobras. Locals have praised his selfless service toward the conservation of animals and birds.
