Joida, July 23: A rare wildlife sighting near Hanoli Cross in Joida taluk has captured the attention of local residents and tourists alike, as a herd of wild gaur was seen standing in a line along the roadside.
The animals, believed to have emerged from the nearby forest, remained by the roadside for several hours without showing signs of distress or fear. Wild gaur, commonly known as Indian bison, are typically known to retreat into the forest upon sensing human activity. However, their calm and stationary presence near the roadway surprised many onlookers.
Motorists travelling through the area stopped to photograph and record videos of the unusual scene, with several images and clips later being shared across social media platforms. The sighting quickly became a talking point among wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers.
While the rare encounter offered a unique opportunity to observe the majestic animals up close, it also raised concerns among some commuters regarding road safety. The presence of large wild animals near a busy roadway can pose risks to both motorists and wildlife, particularly during nighttime hours.
Local residents have urged drivers to remain vigilant while passing through the area and have emphasized the importance of exercising caution, especially after dark.
