Karwar: The streets of Karwar came alive on Sunday evening as nearly 2,000 volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marched in a vibrant display of unity and discipline to mark the organization’s centennial celebrations. The city’s main roads, adorned with saffron flags and colorful buntings, buzzed with energy as the Swayamsevaks, dressed in their signature uniforms and holding lathis, showcased their commitment to the RSS’s mission.
The Pathasanchalan (route march) began at Hindu High School and wound through Karwar’s bustling streets before concluding at the starting point. The disciplined procession captivated onlookers, symbolizing the RSS’s enduring legacy over the past century.

In a stirring address, senior RSS Pracharak Su. Ramanna reflected on the organization’s remarkable journey. “Despite relentless opposition and witch-hunts by rivals and governments, no force could halt the RSS’s growth,” he declared. Urging the Swayamsevaks to stay steadfast, he emphasized the RSS’s core mission: fostering Hindu unity and imparting moral and social values to build a stronger nation.
Ramanna also took aim at what he called “so-called progressive secular forces and communists,” dismissing them as Western ideologies incompatible with India’s rich cultural heritage. “Communism is a relic of the past, while the Hindu cause is witnessing a powerful awakening,” he proclaimed, igniting cheers from the gathered volunteers.
The event saw the presence of notable figures, including Swami Bhyaveshanand Ji and former MLA Roopali Naik, adding to its significance. The march not only celebrated the RSS’s 100-year milestone but also reaffirmed its vision for a united and culturally rooted India.
