Ankola, July 24: A sea turtle that washed ashore at Nadibag beach in Ankola taluk after becoming entangled in a fishing net was successfully rescued and released back into the sea by local youths.
The turtle was spotted struggling in the net near the shoreline. Acting promptly, Akshay Gowda, Rupesh Naik, Gajendra Naik, and Sagar Naik carefully removed the fishing net and ensured the turtle was unharmed before safely releasing it back into the sea.
The timely rescue was appreciated by local residents, who praised the youths for their efforts in protecting marine wildlife and promoting the conservation of sea turtles.
