Murudeshwar (Bhatkal): In a daring late-night robbery, four transgender individuals allegedly assaulted a scooter rider and snatched a gold chain valued at over ₹1 lakh near the Murudeshwar railway station, police said.
The victim, Arun Kumar Bhaskar Naik, a resident of Gummakal in Mavalli, was returning home after filling petrol at a bunk when the incident occurred. While riding along the service road, two transgenders reportedly stopped his scooter. Moments later, two more joined them.
Under the pretext of conversation, the group allegedly behaved indecently before forcibly ripping the gold chain from Arun Kumar’s neck and fleeing the scene, according to the complaint filed.
Arun Kumar Bhaskar Naik immediately approached the Murudeshwar police station and lodged a formal complaint. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
