Karwar, October 21, 2025: The Police Martyrs’ Day was observed with deep reverence at the Police Parade Ground in Karwar, Uttara Kannada district, on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, District Judge B.A. Mayanna stated, “While soldiers protect the nation from external enemies at the borders, police officers work tirelessly to maintain internal peace.” He emphasized that the police force is a vital instrument in ensuring the nation’s tranquility and urged all officers to discharge their duties with utmost dedication.

He further recalled that a Police Museum was established in Delhi in 2008, where the names of martyrs who served selflessly are inscribed on a monolith.
Superintendent of Police Deepan M.N. spoke about the history of Police Martyrs’ Day and paid tribute to police personnel across the country who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in 2025.
During the event, dignitaries honored the martyrs by laying wreaths at the memorial, firing a salute, and observing a moment of silence.
Deputy Commissioner Lakshmipriya, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dileesh Shasi, Additional Superintendent of Police Krishnamurthy, Jagadish, along with other police officers, retired police personnel, and members of the public, participated in the ceremony.
